Who needs toys?

It is true. Kids don't need expensive toys. Just boxes. See below...

Corbin has taken to grabbing anything within arms reach while I am trying to feed him. Here's the pasta box from dinner. At least ten minutes of entertainment until he started to really gnaw on the corner.

Improvement!

I had read that a lot of babies like sweet potatoes best out of the first foods list. So that is what we tried this weekend. I think he liked them. Today - day 2 - went better than day 1. He doesn't love them but he swallowed on purpose a couple of times. Improvement!!

Sitting up!

We have been told to enjoy the short period of time when he can sit up and play on his own but can't really move anywhere. So here he is showing off that new talent.

Also, he has been sucking on his lower lip a lot. He often continues to try to talk while he does it. It ends up being kind of a humming noise. Super cute!

Love the weekend!

We had a rough night last nite. Corbin did not seem all that interested in sleep. There have been some changes lately for him with sleep and it has been a bit rough on all of us. He is rolling over now and so we no longer swaddle him. Sleep sacks are now the night time attire...as seen here.

I bought a couple new ones today. He is wearing the typical boy pattern with every sports ball on it. As you can tell, he has adopted the tummy sleeping position recently. Since he can roll on his own, I am told this is now okay. But I still check on him frequently. But sometimes he wakes and cries out in a very confused way. "how the heck did I end up like this?" Despite the bad nite I see the positive that today is Saturday and I didn't have to face teenagers on so little sleep. Instead Corbin and I laid around for a while and played. Here he is with his new laptop from grandma and granddad sowers.

As you can tell, we are in the eating phase of exploration. Everything goes in the mouth for a checking out! We also ran some errands while tom helped recycle Christmas trees with the scouts. Corbin was great! We went out to pizza tonight with friends. Their kids love our kid. See proof here...

And one last picture of the super fast growing boy right after his bath tonight.

We love Saturdays! Sundays are good too. If only we could adjust the 9 am start time for church. Hope you are having a good weekend, too! That's all for now, folks!! Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

New talents!

I cannot believe how fast Corbin is growing and learning new things. If we continued to learn at the pace he is for our entire lives, we might just being using that whole brain by the end.

Here are a couple new photos for you.

In the jumper. Mostly used to spin around.

Sitting up on the couch. Almost all by himself. Wow!
