State Wrestling Meet

This last weekend was the state wrestling meet. Tom did not coach this year so the meet seemed to come up awfully fast. The season seems much longer to me as a coach's wife than as a casual observer.
So we went to the meet. Of course. I can't even count high enough to figure out how many state wrestling meets tom and I have attended in our lives. Being there together this was #7. And it was Corbin's first! Here he is-

We also went to Nicholas for dinner before the meet. Yummy Lebanese food including bread like this--

Add the hummus, falafel, and the other yummy stuff I can't spell without thinking way too hard. Awesome!!
This is the restaurant tom and I went to on our first date on October 8, 2005. We stayed so long back then that they took away our water glasses. I guess we weren't taking their other subtle hints.
Corbin was super excited to be visiting a place so important to Cinquini family history as seen here--

Oh well. Maybe he will appreciate it more as he gets older. :)
He has tried to eat the leftovers when I have snacked on them. Don't worry-- i know he's not quite ready for all that stuff!!

Baby in the mirror

Corbin has a cold. I hate it. The sound he makes when he coughs makes me so sad. I hate the stuffy nose breathing. I hate being at work and not knowing if he's okay.

But he got to stay home with his daddy on Wednesday. And I got this photo in my email. So cute!!

Busy weekend!

Presidents day weekend. I have always really liked it. Probably because it is always near my birthday so I always feel like it is a 3 day weekend for me as well as Honest Abe and George Washington. This weekend my bday was even part of the weekend so it was even better.
Saturday was my 37th bday. I could wax on about entering my "late" 30s but it is what it is. I am okay with it (I think) and won't waste your time or mine thinking too much about it.
We started the day at weight watchers. (19.8 lbs lost since September!!). Everyone commented on my beautiful and happy baby. I could listen to that all day!!
I met some friends from high school at a bakery for breakfast. I always enjoy seeing them. Something about people who knew you in junior high and still like you now.
I spent most of the day hanging out with my baby. Tom was with the scouts at mt hood so Corbin and i played. When tom got back I had a facial ("you have dry skin-- duh!!). Then we dropped off Corbin with my niece and went to dinner.
We went to Laurelhurst market. We got there at 7. We were seated at 9. Yes, it is that type of place. (We actually went to the nickel arcade during our wait. Loved it!!)
Dinner was so good. Yummy!

I think we used all our ww points for the week. :). It was nice to enjoy a slow and relaxing meal with my husband while we knew our child was happy and safe.
Sunday we did dinner at Toms sisters house with his mom, too. I received a bday card from my nephew with heroes cutting the heads off of bad guys. Never had that before.

My "candle" was a flaming marshmallow. Awesome!!
Then today on Monday I took Corbin to his first political rally. We went to Salem on a bus with other members of my teachers union and we participated in democracy. It was a rally to show support for public education and funding Here are some fun pics from that.

Photo proof that Corbin slept -- for about 15 minutes.

That's the communist party being represented behind us.

Check out the gold man on the roof of the Capitol.

On the bus afterwards.
It was wet and kinda windy but we were there to show our support!
Now we are home...recovering!

Grocery shopping

Just a cute picture from our adventure at Safeway today. No list, no real plan, but knew we needed milk and a few other things. So we wondered through the store.

Many people stopped to tell me how cute Corbin is. I have to remind myself to say thank you and not "I know."

So here's the picture I took of our big guy in the cart for the first time.

On Saturday, Corbin and I went to Eugene to visit my brother's family. We went and saw my ten year old niece play some basketball, ate at a yummy chicken place by the U of O campus, and just played with the cousins.

Here are some good pictures of the fun!

Thanks for the fun times!!

Zhu zhu pets

After watching Corbin watch his cousin's zhu zhu pet, I found one on clearance at Fred Meyer. $4. Well worth the entertainment for tom and me.

And no, I really don't know where that other sock went. :)

Hunting in Pdx!

I tried to post this right after this event but the blog app and I just weren't getting along. So two weeks after the fact---
For one of Tom's Christmas presents I got him these scavenger hunts on groupon. The company is called stray boots, I think. There are three of them around Portland in different parts of town. Toms mom came up from Salem to spend time with Corbin so tom and I went on hunt #1. (Thanks Ruth!)
This one was in old town and chinatown. So when I registered us they gave me a code to text in and a starting spot. Once we did that, it told us where to go and a question we had to answer. For example, we had to go into a record store and find a poster for a specific band and answer a question about the poster. The hunt included cool locations we never would have seen otherwise. Plus, we got cool pdx history info, too. And I loved that!!
Here are some pictures from our adventure.

I am looking forward to completing another one soon!!
