Zoo Lights!

We went with some friends this week to Zoo Lights! It was cold -- really cold -- but super pretty. Corbin has been loving all the lights everywhere so he was super excited. That's also one of his clearest words, too. "lights!"

I was hoping for at least a snowy morning sometime this week - at least enough to bring on a delayed school start but it was not meant to be. Dang!

Our silly boy

I am enjoying watching Corbin's sense of humor develop. This is one of his favorite jokes right now.

He makes us laugh!!

The month of eating

In honor of November being the beginning of the holiday gluttony season, let me share some great Corbin food photos.

A new love for eating with utensils. Even a spoon for spaghetti noodles.

But eating spaghetti like a baby bird is pretty cool, too.

Eating can really wear a little guy out!

Pizza!! He actually likes black olives on his pizza best!

Not really eating but in the kitchen causing havoc anyway.

He has taken to tasting his art supplies especially the blue ones.

And our little man ready for bed sporting the blonde fro I always wanted him to have.

Playing Catch-up

Where did November go?

Aaaah!! I must have blinked. It has come and gone! Cool things happened in that fleeting month!

Let's do some catching up.

We will start with Chicago! We went on a long weekend for a friend's wedding. He is the guy who set tom and me up back in the day.

Here are some pictures of our adventure...

On the plane with a 15 month old...

Overall, Corbin did great. Two flights each way. Slept some on both. He loved to run the aisle which was a bit difficult for us. The passengers loved him. Thank goodness!

Chicago has some amazing public art installations. Corbin enjoyed these guys kicking around soccer balls more than the video art behind them.

But he did love The Bean. But of course what toddler wouldn't love art that featured him?
Also, at the park he loved chasing the pigeons. They are so used to people that he could get SO close! Tourists were filming him with his adorable curls laughing as he ran. I was flattered and a bit creeped out. One woman even posed with him as her husband took their picture! I should have charged her a dollar!!

Getting in to trouble at the wedding reception. But again people loved him so no one seemed to care.

And then he wore himself out. He is asleep on the black couch looking out from the 43rd floor. Such an amazing view!

Deep dish pizza!

At the aquarium. The weather was surprisingly warm on our wandering days. Over 60! In Chicago in November! Nice.

Biscuits and gravy were a hit!

Not sure if you can tell, but that is a remote in Tom's hand. Ummm...did I mention that Corbin has learned the joy of throwing things in the toilet? Ummm...that might be a connected story.

Sharing ice cream with dad.

Running down the halls at the hotel. Beautiful old hotel. Great deal on Hotwire.

What is better than 2 pacifiers? Three!!

And finally, our journey home. We had a great time exploring and just enjoying time together. I also truly realized what a small town we live in!

Tower building

When I picked Corbin up at the sitter's house today, her son was upset that Corbin kept knocking down the towers he was building. So I held Corbin on my lap while the big kids built towers. But they soon realized that there is not much point to building towers if you don't knock them down. They then told me to let Corbin go. He quickly fulfilled the task of knocking them all down!

At home, he has been really into building towers himself. He got megablocks for his birthday back in July and they are currently what he wants to play with every night.

Here he is--

My favorite is when he is sitting there stacking the pieces higher and higher. Then he realizes he can't add another because it's too high so he stands up to put another one on. Then he sits back down to grab another piece when he realizes he has to get up again. He does it all so easily now. It makes me realize how big he is getting!

Halloween photos

I realized that I hadn't posted any photos from our Halloween adventures. So here we go...

We dressed up as a family for the church Halloween party.

And then I took Corbin to Halloween night up at the high school. It is a night of carnival kind of games and a fundraiser for the junior class.

We adapted some of the games for him. This was the ring placement (instead of toss)

He went fishing for prizes.

Football. He basically handed the football through the hole to the kid on the other side. Works for me!

But his favorite thing to do was to watch the other kids and run around the gym. He loved it!!

We didn't take him out on actual Halloween.

Trick or treating can wait until next year.

Bath time!

Corbin loves his bath time. Tonight I couldn't convince him it was time to get out. No matter what I tried.

Always an adventure

So today I am sitting on the couch reading and Corbin hands me something. Kind of oval shaped, kind of squishy, kind of brown, hmmmm? So I smell it and I quickly shout to tom.

"Our son just handed me poo!"

I walk around the corner with Corbin in my arms and there is a now dissected diaper sitting in the middle of the hall. Ewww!

No pictures for this moment. Sorry!!

Funny addition- just this morning I got an email from some site giving me info on what to expect from my now 15 month old. The first tidbit was about expecting him to have an increased interest in his diaper. I knew he was advanced. He won't be 15 months until next week!

Here are a couple pictures of my smarty pants--

Chocolate pudding not something else in case you were wondering.

Grandpa always grows the biggest pumpkins.

He wanted to be the line judge at the volleyball game while mom kept score.

Playing with gauze. Maybe he wants to be a mummy next week!

Some more fun photos

Fun hiding spot.

Yummy berry smoothie!

Helping clean the boat!

Nothing better than a big stick to carry around at the park.

Bubbles along with evidence of kitchen destruction behind him. He never stops moving!!

So beautiful!!

Full speed ahead

That title could explain Corbin or time. I feel like I can't keep up anywhere right now. Grading, cleaning, cooking, laundry, grocery shopping, helping my parents, chasing Corbin, spending time with my husband, etc etc. I keep thinking I need one more hour and then I might just be able to make it work. But alas, there are only 24 in a day.

So I guess this is why we have to prioritize and not feel bad about takeout. :)

Here are some pictures of Corbin for you. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful little boy.

Did I mention I can't keep up?

Sharing ice cream. Well, he shared until we reached the chocolate. Then it got much harder to get the spoon back.

Helping out on the boat. It's been so nice that we have been able to sneak in some fall boat rides.

Not sure if you can tell, he has fallen asleep in the crevice of the couch with his head back on the cushions. Didn't look too comfy but we chose to take a photo first. Then we moved him.

In his Sunday suit.

Peanut butter but more importantly, jelly!

Lots of mustaches in the Cinquini family on this night. But my sister pointed out how my Grandpa Sowers had a mustache that kind of looked like this. So maybe he is showing off that connection.

That's all for now, folks!!

Love this!

Corbin and I watched some freshman football today. Good to get some air and to relax for a while. But the best part was when we were sitting there and Corbin wrapped his hand around my neck and rested his head on my head.

Love my amazing little boy!!

Miss us?

Sorry we haven't posted. Life has thrown us for a few loops lately. But we are working on seeing the miracles - small and big.

Corbin seems bigger to me every morning when we wake up and every afternoon when I pick him up. I love being a part of things as he learns new things and explores the world.

Some pictures for you.

Trying to eat mashed potatoes with the serving spoon he just had to have.

The blonde curls I knew my son would have.

Destroying Grammy Cinquini's bathroom in the few minutes mom brushed her teeth.

Doritos. Can you believe his mom?

Look what he chose later though. I must not be ruining him too badly.

At the beach exploring the sand. He liked playing in it. Eating it was not as well liked.

Family portrait. Good looking Cinquini men. And me.

Trying a bit of smore. Actually he ate a bit of marshmallow but wasn't really all that interested. So I ate it for him. That's what Moms are for.

That's it for now. He's getting his 7th tooth right now. 3rd one on the bottom. And he is sleeping in much longer stretches at night. And really nailing this walking thing. And lots of other amazing big boy things. :)
